In the new issue of the newspaper of Tajik Agrarian University we published an article about our project.
The IRDP|TRIGGER project aims to promote an active start-up culture in Tajikistan.
Within a few months, the students of the University went through an incubation program, registered business projects and underwent a coaching stage.
Below is the summary text of the article:
“At present the university has agreements on cooperation with 146 educational and research institutions in 24 countries, as well as 21 programs of foreign organizations in the field of education and science and professional development of interns. Within the framework of Component IV of the Project training seminars on the themes: “Development and Presentation of Business Project” and “Role of TUP Technopark in specialist training” were conducted with participation of 110 doctoral candidates, masters and students of the Tajik State Agrarian University named after Sh. Shohtemur.
A three-day start-up Bootcamp was held at the Khoja Obi Garm, where participants were trained in project development, business planning and the further establishment of small businesses. Sixty students, masters and doctoral students from these institutions, qualified for the first phase of the project and received certificates.
On September 10, 2021, within the framework of this Project, Professor Makhmadyorzoda U.M. – the rector of the University and Mr. Wolf Hendrik Gorecki, Director of the Integrated Rural Development Project |TRIGGER, Mr. Jürgen Burks, PEM Consult Team Leader of the Startup Promotion project Mr. Jumaboy Shohmurodov, National Expert of the “Startups Promotion Project in Tajikistan” participated in the opening ceremony of the Incubation Program based on the business plans submitted by the project participants and opened two training courses for three months on the basis of the University, where the Prof. Mahmadyorzoda U.M, Rector made a speech on the topic “Innovative development in agribusiness sector”.
More than 30 students from the Tajik State Agrarian University named after Sh. Shohtemur and 10 young entrepreneurs from other partner organizations have participated in these courses.
The students were taught by highly qualified foreign and local consultants. At the end of the final seminar young start-ups, namely students: Bakhodurova M. and Shonazirov K. awarded with certificates for pitching presentation done in the Tajik Startups Challenge.
At the same time, within the framework of the IRDP/TRIGGER project, components II and IV four University staff: Mr. Kholov F.Sh., Mr. Rakhimov H.S., Mr. Boymurodov R.B. and Mrs.Rasulova Z.O. have completed professional development course on “Business Module Development”, “Impact of climate change on agricultural SMEs in Tajikistan” and acted as master trainers for students – participants of the incubation program. Trained Master Trainers have conducted training seminars on development of business plans to open enterprises, which were attended by over 500 students of the TAU, partner organizations, farmers, women-farmers from Khatlon, Sughd regions and this cooperation continues”.
